What a busy but great weekend!! A very sweet young couple from my church were married on Saturday and I had the honor of making their wedding cake for them. The venue was at the Living to Go Church in Rivergate and the colors for the wedding were ivory and pink. The bride requested that the cake be made a soft pink with the quilting design, pearl accents, black ribbon and topped off with ivory and pink roses. To add the finishing touch the entire cake was dusted with shimmer to give just a touch of sparkle in the light.

Some Recent Work
I wanted to start this blog to showcase some of my more recent work with a bit more detailed descriptions of the cakes I make.
My most recent cake was a 1/2 sheet cake for a baby shower. It was half milk chocolate cake and half white cake with a chocolate mousse filling. The cake was covered with fondant and embossed with designs of baby items and made to look like a hand-stitched quilt. It was topped off with an old fashion baby carriage.
Next was the birthday cake I completed for my daughters 13th birthday. It was a 4 layer cake (1/2 milk chocolate & 1/2 strawberry) with butter cream filling and covered in fondant. I then created hand-made roses to top it off and stenciled on an elegant design to finish it off.

The last that I am going to showcase for today was a Tinkerbell cake that I completed for my younger daughters 11th birthday. This the top layer was a yellow cake and the bottom layer lemon cake. It was covered in lemon butter cream frosting and decorated with hand made fondant flowers. The bottom ring was hand made fondant rose petals, and Tinkerbell was made by hand from a fondant/gum paste mix.
Thanks for looking and I will add more pictures and posts soon!! :)
